Vent #3
AI technology is damaging the blue collar and white collar work culture. Recruiters and Human Resources are not realizing that because they are choosing to sift out candidates by picking up the phone and interviewing to find out the voice behind the resume, they will be replaced in the future. Job boards are full of people stating how long they have been unemployed and how they can’t reach a real person because AI scan eliminates their resume based on the scoring factors. You can’t just walk into businesses anymore and ask for jobs because they send you back to their website and tell you that someone will reach out to you if you meet their qualifications which is not true because most jobs don’t send replies to your applications either way. I read that 70% of companies now use AI technology to scan resumes and applications to fill job positions and by the end of the year it will grow to 90%. People are not robots, people are not a diagnosis, or data analytics, people are human beings with feelings, personalities, traits and characteristics. Cars that drive themselves sound cool until the cars smash into other cars on the road or crash through a school causing injuries and deaths. Robots can’t create life. There is only so much programming that a human can do to make AI as intelligent and life like, and that realm is also suffering in the economy with graduates not being able to locate employment to take on those tasks in the younger generation. We still need to realize that everything should not be automated in order to be efficient. Would you want a robot performing surgery on your body? Would you want a robot babysitting your children? Would you want a a robot driving a the school bus with your children aboard? Would you have sex with a robot? Would you fly on planes piloted by robots? Would you trust robots to fight wars? Schools have rules to not use ChatGPT or any chatbot to complete assignments, but if what’s the point when after you graduate, the only way to get a job is to revise your resume by using “keywords and exact job descriptions” in order to be chosen by AI technology to be selected to be seen by a real person. It makes no sense. I would not with all of the easy ways other countries are constantly attacking our technology with malicious viruses, it’s too wide open. Security protocols need to be made more secure and locked down before we rush into all of this AI technology because as long as it has it’s vulnerabilities, it’s nowhere near time to move forward basing everything we do in our lives on that. Don’t mind me, I’m just venting because I’m going through it trying to find employment fed up about AI not seeing me as a human being. As long as I can write my own words, I’m okay, but how long will we even be able to use that gift before AI replaces that by telling us we can’t say this or that and show our emotions?
